Emmy award-winning journalist Lauren Sanchez will be returning to "Extra" as a special correspondent and weekend co-host for the shows 16th season.
Lauren is an Entertainment / Special Projects Reporter and frequent Guest Anchor on FOX 11's "Good Day L.A." and its top-rated ten o'clock newscast. Previously, Sanchez anchored My13 News, was co-host of "That's So Hollywood," hosted the premiere season FOX's smash hit, "So You Think You Can Dance" and made many guest hosting appearances on ABC's "The View." She joined KCOP-TV from Fox Sports, where she served as Anchor on "Fox Sports Tonight" and as Correspondent on its popular newsmagazine, "Going Deep," where her in-depth investigative report on the dangers of metal baseball bats earned her another Emmy nomination.
Sanchez has also appeared in major films like "Fight Club" with Brad Pitt, "The Longest Yard," with Adam Sandler, "Fantastic Four," with Jessica Alba and "Batman Begins" with Christian Bale; just to name a few.
Lauren was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from Del Norte High School. She is married to talent agent Patrick Whitesell in 2005and has two sons and one daughter: Nikko Gonzalez (from a relationship with Tony Gonzalez ), Evan Whitesell and Ella Whitesell with husband Patrick.
Sanchez and family currently live in Los Angeles.
